Andy & The Big Funk – “Absent Friend”: The show is dedicated to the much lauded bassist Wayne Nunes of the Big Funk whose playing credits also included Billy Ocean, Eddie Grant, Tricky and Warrior Charge. The band will be playing selected tracks from the newly released album “Absent Friend” which will include songs by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass and Bill Withers among many more soul classics.
When not busy writing and recording, top soul vocalist Andrew Wood Mitchell has performed on stage with the likes of Damian Alban, Natalie Cole, Lee Johns, Lamal, Brian Eno and Paul Young among many others in major venues both here and abroad. Andy’s band The Big Funk encompass some of the UK’s finest soul & funk musicians with Matthew Johnson on keys (Jamiroquai, Duffy), Andy Smith on guitar (Jocelyn Brown, Alexander O’Neil). Ernie McKone, bass (Candy Statton, Galliano) and Michael Connolly drums, (Geno Washington, Kenny Thomas). Expect a high octane evening of funky soul drenched music from these master musicians. 7.30pm Tickets £16 (£14 for Chiswick Club Card holders) plus Eventbrite booking fee.
