Cheese Wine Giggles - Double Bass & Violin

Comedian, actor, podcaster and Big cheese lover Marcus Brigstocke hosts a night of cheese, wine and comedy. Marcus Alexander Brigstocke is a British comedian and actor. He has worked in stand-up comedy, television, radio and musical theatre. He has appeared on many BBC television and radio shows.

We will be putting on a magical and fun tasting event in The Boston Room. As well as tasting exceptional British artisan cheese and organic and bio-dynamic wine a score of music has been put together to pair with the food and drink. There will be jazz and classical music performed by Royal Welsh musicians Will and Amy. 

The night begins at 7pm with an aperitif wine introduced by Katherine Dart. Katherine is a Master of Wine and has worked in the wine trade for over two decades. Prior to entering the wine trade she studied English Literature at Lancaster University. After finishing her BA, she went on to attain an MA in Literature and History of Art from Reading University. Katherine owns a wine subscription and consultancy business called grape and nectar. her focus is on wines from small vineyards that work with agroecology. 

The Cheese will be presented by Marcus and James Grant. James owns No2 Pound Street, a cheesemongers in Buckinghamshire specialising in British artisan cheese & wine. James is an Academy of Cheese training partner, cheese columnist and regular judge at competitions including the World Cheese Awards and British Cheese Awards. He is also the co-founder of The Real Cheese Project

As well as enjoying a tutored tasting of the finest British artisan cheese and wine, we will have the brilliant and accomplished musicians Will & Amy.

Will Hollands has worked with orchestras like the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Based in Tring, he earned an Orchestral Masters from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2023 after graduating from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has engaged in various symphonic, opera, and chamber projects and plays a Hawkes & Son Concert Model double bass from circa 1890. 

Will is joined by violinist, Amy Price an accomplished musician who also studied at the Royal Welsh College of music. She has played with The Brighton Philharmonic and musical theatre projects across London.
