A Night In Harlem: Led by the renowned musicians Richard Exall, (The Glen Miller Orchestra UK, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra) on tenor saxophone and clarinet and MD and pianist Dom Barnett, the director of Rainey’s Revue band at high profile jazz festivals such as the Swanage, Folkestone and Twinwood festivals who have meticulously arranged the music to feature some of the classic songs of the singer dubbed ‘The Mother Of The Blues’, Ma Rainey whilst capturing the true essence of the music of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
The well-established rhythm section featuring drum legend Sam Kelly, (Chaka Khan, Ben E King & Ruby Turner ) and the noted big band double bassist Marianne Windham sets the foundation for a captivating and immersive musical experience. Complimenting this swinging ensemble are the powerful and captivating vocals of Chrissie Myles (multi-Platinum selling band Bastille) and Emily Windham, whose voices will transport you to the Harlem jazz clubs of yesteryears.
