
Jazz At The George - Shireen Francis & the Small Island Project
13 Apr 23 7:30 PMThis exciting line-up put together and fronted by the multi-talented singer Shireen Francis is unique in integrating traditional jazz harmonies with the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of Reggae and Calypso, creating a highly accessible musical hybrid.
Shireen’s rich and multi-layered vocal style is heard to good effect on this highly atmospheric fusion of musical genres, having worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Billy Ocean, Mark Murphy, Roberto Pla, Benny Green, John Etheridge and the late great Humphrey Lyttelton.
Guitarist Dominic Grant is one of the most in-demand musicians on the UK circuit, having regularly worked with such luminaries as Harry Belafonte, Cy Grant, Ronnie Laws, Eduardo Niebla and Courtney Pine. Mark Cherrie is unique as a player within the steel pan community, leading the UK’s only steel pan jazz quartet.
Mark’s steel pan playing has seen him work with Gary Barlow, Edwin Starr and Jimmy Ruffin among many others. Top percussionist Fergus Gerrand has worked and recorded with bands such as Duran Duran, Take That, Vanessa Mae, ABC, Sting and the Who among many others.
A word about our seating arrangements
We sell tickets as tables for two or four people and banquettes for six.
We also sell tickets for individual seats in rows beside the stage, not at a table. You can also buy individual tickets to add to tables, so you can to buy a table for two and make it up to three by buying an extra ticket, or buy a table for four and make it up to five by buying an extra ticket.
Chiswick Calendar Club Card holders are offered a £2 discount on tickets.
You can order meals, bar snacks and drinks in the Boston Room, before and during the performance. Doors open 7.00 pm. Performance starts 7.30 pm
